Nature reserve: Divji potok
Divji potok (literally: wild creek) is a torrential stream that rises above the village of Srednja vasja near Črmošnjice. Due to its geographical location and dolomite rocks, its flow has created a very varied and picturesque riverbed, full of small waterfalls, pools and rapids. The tufa is extracted in the area of the entire streambed, which mostly flows through the forest. After approximately 3.5 km of flow, it flows into the Črmošnjica, which flows towards Dolenjske Toplice. The remains of former Gottschee settlements (Novi and Stari Tabor, Nova Gora, Stare Žage, ...) are also located here.
There is also a 3km-long loop educational trail here, intended for children from 3 to 6 years old, as well as older children and adults. The Divji potok loop educational trail starts in the village of Črmošnjice, at the parking lot at the CŠOD center Lipa, at 410 m above sea level. Starting point coordinates: 45.672257; 15,102131
More information about the educational trail can be found at this link: https://www.druzinski-izleti.si/regije/jugovzhodna-slovenija/ucna-pot-divji-potok.html
We recommend rubber boots or field shoes for the visit.
