Before an independent parish was founded in Poljane in 1792, it was a branch of Črmošnjice Parish. The baroque church, which stands on the edge of the village was built in 1625; inside it has rich decorative elements and boasts quite a few pieces of selected and high-quality equipment.
The main altar is from 1757, the work of an unknown author. It is a beautiful late-baroque scene that surrounds a central niche with a statue of the parish's patron saint, St. Andrew the Apostle. Part of the altar is an oval painting of the Archangel Michael, which is attributed to Valentin Metzinger, although it is said to have been heavily painted over later. The altar also includes statues of St. Anne in St. Joachim, who used to stand alone on the consoles next to the altar. The Way of the Cross is also interesting, painted on a panel with inscriptions in German Gothic alphabet, which is certainly a significant memory of the former inhabitants. The organs were made in 1861 by the master Franc Dev and are therefore, according to connoisseurs, very valuable, as it is one of his rare preserved works, although unfortunately not in working order at the moment. The organ cabinet is a beautiful baroque work. You can also see the restored stained glass windows with oval icons of saints. The windows also have gothic inscriptions.
